About Me

Hello! I’m Kristen, a Brisbane and Melbourne photographer who loves pretty things, warm colours, a splash of red, puffy clouds and elegant ampersands. On the average weekend when I’m not at a wedding you’ll probably find me photographing a live band, watching a derby bout, shooting a new crazy idea I’ve had or chilling on the couch with my cat watching Fringe. I have terrible handwriting and (I think) a weird phone voice, but I’m typeractive – which means I give good email and am a little TOO chatty online!

I love all things DIY and recycled, which is why I try to go eco-friendly wherever possible, from my packaging to my business cards.

My favourite clients are those who are after something different, be it themed, vintage, DIY, alternative, gay/lesbian/same-sex or just casual-style occasions.

I have a background in live music photography which means I think fast, adapt to the available environment to take a great photo in any situation and love documentary style. I think this makes me a little bit different, in an awesome kind of way! I’m also a fully trained and experienced designer, so I love designing awesome wedding albums as much as I enjoy taking the photos to go in them!

I’m not about awkward poses, cheesy editing or epic scenery. I try to make every photoshoot as painless as possible and create a fun, relaxed and generally enjoyable environment. You won’t feel silly or strain your smile muscles (too much!). I know you’re not professional models so I’m there to help you through it while getting the very best out of your photos – clients are always telling me how much they enjoyed their session and how unexpectedly easy it was! My style in 3 words is fresh, natural and a little bit cheeky.
