What is the photobooth?
These days there are heaps of companies popping up who do automatic oldschool photobooths with an actual little booth and your photos appearing in a slot printed 4-up.
Our photobooth is a little different. Really, it’s a mini/portable studio. We set up professional lights in a spot of your choosing at the reception, either against a cool wall or a background you might have set up to match your wedding theme and have a real photographer (ie not a camera in a box) take your photo. We also set up a little table full of fun props – stuff like moustaches on sticks, hats, glasses and chalkboards, as well as anything the bride and groom fancy throwing in that matches their theme.
WHY IS IT AWESOME?
You and your guests get fabulous, fun photos of them at the reception – MUCH better than photos of your guests sitting at tables eating dinner!
CAN I USE MY OWN PROPS?
Absolutely! You’re welcome to use all your own props, or add in a few props that match your wedding theme to our collection.
DO YOU PROVIDE A BACKDROP?
Nope – we prefer to have your photobooth match YOUR wedding theme, so we encourage people to provide their own backdrop, even if it’s just a tiny bit of matching decoration, or you go all out like the Dr Who themed booth in the picture below! Alternatively, a plain wall looks great too. Check out the photos below for some creative examples of backdrops.
HOW MUCH ROOM DO YOU NEED FOR THE PHOTOBOOTH?
Ideally, we’d love a 4×4 metre space – that gives us plenty of room for larger groups (at some point in the night everyone will try to pile in at once!), as well as space to set up the prop table.
WHAT ELSE CAN I DO IN THE BOOTH?
Other than the obvious fun guest photos during the reception, you can also do your family photos in the photobooth! It’s a great alternative if your wedding is short on time or it’s a rainy day and we can’t do the family photos after the reception. This way, your family photos can be done during the evening at your leisure and the weather can’t disrupt us!
I’M HAVING AN OUTDOOR RECEPTION, CAN I STILL HAVE A PHOTOBOOTH?
The photobooth does need to be undercover as our lighting equipment and props aren’t waterproof!
WHEN CAN MY GUESTS SEE THEIR IMAGES?
We aim to put the photobooth images onto our facebook page as soon as possible after your wedding, usually within the week! Your guests can then share and tag them as they please. We’ll also provide you all the photobooth photos along with your main wedding photos on your disc of images.
WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH THE PHOTOS?
Sometimes your guests have SO much fun in the photobooth we end up with heaps of pictures – what to do with them all? Consider getting a separate album (perhaps a low-cost linen cover or a mini-album!) for your photobooth photos, so you can flick through, remember the fun you had and enjoy them for years to come.
